NEWPORT RIDGE

  • URGENT NOTICE - March 2008 - Three very urgent fixes for your home -      1.  Replace all angle stop valves and supply hoses (Toliets and sinks) Valve or hose failure will cause flood - many houses in neighborhood have experienced this. (see link below for pictures of failed parts)
    2.  We have been replacing all closet light fixtures due to fire damage that is shown in pictures below.  Replacement is a can light to match exisiting.
    3.  All built in Refrigerators have a coil and compressor on top of unit...We have been cleaning many units that are saturated with so much dust/lint that the units can not cool/breathe properly.   (CLICK HERE FOR PICTURE OF DIRTY UNIT )

August 2006 - Lighting in Newport Ridge homes - the light fixtures in many closets are only rated for two 60 watt bulbs.  The fixture does not have insulation so the wiring has basically baked and can cause a short or a fire.  Even the 60 watt bulbs have overheated the fixture.  It is advised that you replace these fixtures ASAP.  (Click here for picture of fixture and proof of damage)

  • September 2006 -  Many homes in Newport Ridge are experiencing plumbing problems.
    1.  Many toilet parts are failing -  When the plastic/vinyl/rubber parts get worn and old they start to deteriorate and fail.  Many new flappers and filler valves replaced.
    2.  Many of the angle stop valves (valves that are water supply hot/cold under sinks and toilets) and supply hoses are getting to an age where they need to be replaced.  A home was flooded on Vernon Street due to failure of the supply hose.  I replace the valves with a new quarter turn valve and braided metal supply hose.  The old valves are plastic inside with o-rings and very prone to failure due to hard water and deposits.  The old supply hoses are very thin copper and break easily. New valves are simple quarter turn and a newer ball valve design. Click here for picture of old valve and supply line.   Click here for picture of new valve and new braided hose supply line
